The short-lived TV show SlamBall — where suburbanites can dunk a basketball! — could be making a comeback into a full-fledged sport league, reports the NEW YORK TIMES.

If you don’t remember SlamBall, and for some frightening reason the picture doesn’t help, SlamBall was a Spike TV show consisting of four-on-four basketball, trampolines, and the ability to push and shove each other. In short, it was a grown-up’s Nickelodeon G.U.T.S., without the abnormally reserved British female referee.
SlamBall as a league, with teams in different cities and all that good jazz, might be a reality by 2009 if the taping of a showcase league this summer takes off.
The concept was always a little enticing, enabling the average human being with a modicum of coordination to become the architect of exciting, aerial stunts involving a hoop and basketball. Since SlamBall’s departure, the alternative was this:
