East Coast Cripplers Quadraplegic Rugby Hampton Roads

The game is described as “a hybrid of wheelchair basketball, ice hockey and handball, the game is played with two teams of four on a basketball court. Players pass a volleyball-sized ball back and forth, dribbling it every 10 seconds as they advance toward the goal. To score, the player with the ball must make it past an opponent’s goal line.

And good news for those of you in the Hampton Roads area: “The Cripplers are looking for a few good men - and women: quadriplegic military veterans who want to practice what they learned in rehabilitation with some fun, full-contact recreational therapy.
