8:00 PM Hit of the day comes from Rutgers safety Zaire Kitchen, who laid out Louisville WR Doug Beaumont. Kitchen was flagged on the play, while Beaumont was taken off the field on a stretcher. Fortunately, Beaumont had movement in all his extremities, and X-rays came back negative.
7:45 PM The Dallas Morning News reports that SMU has given June Jones a two-year extension, extending his coaching contract through 2014. The Mustangs are 6-5 and eligible for their first bowl in 25 years.
