SPORTS BUSINESS DAILY serves up important info for tonight’s match between Pete Sampras and Roger Federer at Madison Square Garden.
The so-called NetJets Showdown will be the first time any tennis event has been held at MSG since 2000. But for those of you who couldn’t get a ticket to the court proceedings, there are other options.
The Tennis Channel will be broadcasting the match live, with John McEnroe sharing his wisdom as analyst. For those who can’t find the cable network, Landmark Theatres will also be showing the Showdown at selected movie houses in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas & Indianapolis.
If you happen to be around the arena, MSG Plus (formerly Fox Sports New York) will also be utilizing the big screen, beaming the indoor doings-on out on the outdoor marquees around the building. If you’re stuck at home, you can always watch the festivities online at MSG.com.
The NetJets Showdown is scheduled to start … RIGHT NOW! Hurry! Find a screen before it’s too late!
But to be honest, even though it features two top tennis stars, it’s hard to get too psyched up over an event named after a couple of mediocre Big Apple-area sports franchises.
