Rutgers Student Section Now Out Of Control At Scarlet Knights Games

RUTGERS STUDENTS TO NAVY PLAYERS, FANS: “F— YOU!”: With 9/11 once again upon us, last weekend was a great time to give a tip of the cap to our police, emergency personnel, military and service academies. But apparently Rutgers students were too busy on beer runs or at electrolysis sessions to be bothered.

Mark DiIonno of the NEWARK STAR-LEDGER has the sad details of Rutgers fan behavior during last Friday’s Navy-Rutgers game: “Navy was booed and peppered with ‘You suck!’ chants when they stepped on the field for both halves. Toward the end of the second half, Rutgers students in the new bleacher section began to serenade the adjacent section of Navy fans and uniformed Midshipmen.

‘F— you, Navy. F—you, Navy. F— you, Navy.’

Reax from Bill Squires, an Annapolis grad and academic recruiter who was at the game: “This is how you treat people who may die for this country? It was the most classless thing I’ve seen. There were wives and small children up there. Our Midshipmen reacted the way they were taught. They didn’t respond, but the band started playing ‘Anchors Aweigh’ to drown them out. Me, I felt like going up there and smacking somebody. I was mad, and it bothered me all weekend.

When Reggie Campbell, a tiny 168-pound slotback for the Middies who will soon be seeing duty in Iraq, was crushed by an avalanche of Rutgers defenders and slowly limped off the field, the students section chanted, “You got f—ed up. You got f—ed up. You got f–ed-up.

Correction: That would be the Rutgers fake-tanned steroid freaks students.
