The Houston Rockets just keep rolling along, as they won their 15th in a row Sunday night, downing the Denver Nuggets 103-89.
The Rockets still seem to be on course despite the loss of Yao Ming, who’s out for the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his left foot. Yao is scheduled to have surgery on Monday - because it wouldn’t look too classy to limp into the Beijing Hooters during the Olympics.
So, how was Houston able to get so pumped up for Sunday’s game? Maybe it was a special guest sitting courtside that gave the Rockets the shot of support they needed.
Yep, that’s Roger Clemens in the front row, watching the other Rockets along with his legal beagle Rusty Hardin.
But if you listen to what Tracy McGrady tells the HOUSTON CHRONICLE, they may not need such celebrity fan support:
“We’re a good team. We believe. We don’t care about what anybody says about us outside this locker room. We as a group, we believe and we know how good we are and we’re showing it. We’re a focused group, a group that understands how to win ballgames, playing great defensively. What more do we got to do?”
Well, winning an NBA title would be nice.
Back to Roger, we noticed the iPod headphone wires coming out of his chest. (Or maybe he sprung a leak from taking one too many “B-12″ shots.) Wonder what he could’ve been listening to.
