Ah, love is in the air in the tennis world. And I’m not talking about Billie Jean King canoodling with Elton John at a Bud Collins-hosted Streisand listening party.

This week Andy Roddick will finally close the deal with Brooklyn Decker, marrying the SI swimsuit model. While Decker isn’t really my cup of tea, there’s no debating she’s regarded as a mega-hottie.

Roger Federer also married recently, consumating his relationship with a woman named Miroslava Vavrinec. With a name like that, you’d think he snagged a 5-star supermodel.

And you would be wrong.

Vavrinec is a former tour player from Switzerland who is now Federer’s manager.

No idea why I thought of Reuben Kincaid when I saw her photo.

Federer’s slingshot into family life comes just three months after he told the Herald Sun during a post-match press conference at the AAMI Classic at Kooyong in January that he did not expect to marry this year.

“I don’t know, not really,” Federer said when we asked if wedding bells would soon be ringing.

Now there’s a vote of confidence.

Wonder if the fact that Vavrinec was pregnant had anything to do with it? At least I hope she is.
