YARDBARKER via SCOTT VAN PELT STYLE passes along the job status of Reggie Love, former Duke basketball player who’s now serving as Barack Obama’s personal point man.

Among the various duties Reggie does for the Democratic presidential candidate is to keep Obama in top form with a little one-on-one.

From SVPS (with an assist from the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER):

“When he’s not returning telephone calls, prepping his boss for television appearances and leading the wagons on the campaign trail, he’s scrimmaging Obama in pick up games.

“He said Obama has a quick first step and gets his shot off easily because he’s left-handed. ‘He’s wiry looking, but he’s actually pretty strong,’ Love said. ‘And he hates losing. He plays hard.’”

Love never made a bucket during his 58-game collegiate career, and was also part of a 22-game losing streak while a member of the Blue Devils football team. But if all goes well in November, Reggie hopes to finally score major points with a winner.
