Here’s soon-to-be viral video of freshman USC running back Dillon Baxter at a scrimmage last Saturday:
From official USC football release on the scrimmage:
Baxter ran for 94 yards on 9 carries; he went untouched on his scoring run in which he found a slight opening along the left sideline and then juked a number of defenders en route to the endzone.
Coach Lane Kiffin: “I thought Dillon Baxter was phenomenal. His scoring run looked like Reggie Bush’s against Fresno State in 2005. It didn’t matter who was in front of him, nobody could tackle him. He’s exciting, but we realize he’s still got a ways to go.
I was at that Fresno game and when I saw Baxter’s scrimmage run, thought the same thing even before I saw Kiffin’s comment.
Baxter, listed at 5-11, 190 for now, got plenty of touches as a receiver and quarterback in high school as well. He probably won’t be lining up in those positions, but the guy could very well turn out to be a multifaceted weapon.
