Red Sox and Yankees Brawling Off To A Fast Start

RED SOX FAN SEVERELY BEATEN OUTSIDE NEW YORK BAR: Red Sox and Yankees fans are already getting started on their post-season pugilism:

Boston sucks Yankees suck

WNBC-TV reports that a Red Sox fan was sent to the hospital Thursday night after two men attacked him outside of a hotel in Yonkers, NY. The injuries were serious enough to send fan Carlos Ortez to the intensive care unit.

Ortez and Walter Ostromecki were sitting in the bar at the Ramada Inn, with one of them wearing a Red Sox cap, when Duane Somers and Edward McConaughey made some rude comments about the Boston baseball club.

Not taking the talk lightly, the foursome exchanged even harsher words until Ortez and Ostromecki left the bar. Somers and McConaughey apparently followed the two men out and attacked them.

While Ostromecki managed to flee, Ortez was viciously beaten, suffering broken facial bones. The two attackers were soon taken in by police and charged with assault.

Imagine the brutality if the Sox and Yanks were actually playing each other in the playoffs. While Boston looks to be keeping their end of the bargain up, New York needs a little work (and a lot of pitching relief).
