Kevin Hart is the poor high school football player in Nevada who thought he’d been offered a football scholarship to Cal, only to realize the his recruitment was a complete fraud.
Yesterday it was reported that the police were looking into the matter, which made us think there might be more to the story.
Turns out we were right.
Hart claims, in a report taken Saturday by the LCSD, that a Kevin Riley falsely represented himself as a recruiter — a middle man to big-time college football programs — and led the 6-foot-5, 290-pounder and his family to believe there were scholarship offers available when there were none.
Obtaining money with a false pretense is the charge on the report at this time, said Deputy Dan Lynch, who took the report. Finding Riley could be difficult, though.
Now we know why the police are involved. And as if it can’t get any worse, someone has slapped up an unflattering, fake myspace page of Hart.
We’re really, really sorry for this, but every time we see the photo of Hart above, we can’t help but chuckle. Yes, we were one of those a$$holes in high school you probably hated.
