We’ve never really liked Anna Benson, and couldn’t care less if her sore-armed husband Kris makes the Phillies this Spring as a non-roster invitee.
Until now.
The PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS reports the couple has adopted a couple tiny Marmoset monkeys (great idea, kids!) and Kris had the good sense to bring them into the clubhouse yesterday. (video)
The monkeys, which cost $2,000 each, have apparently now traded living “in the upper canopy of trees in Central and South America” for living in J.C. Romero’s locker. You’ll also be *shocked* to know that “Benson and wife Anna are also the owners of nine dogs, a cat, and some fish.”

Living with Anna Benson, two monkeys, nine dogs, a cat and a fish? Sounds like our next late-night, on-demand selection at Holiday Inn Express.
Kris, who is hanging by a thread with the Phils, and who missed a scheduled minor league start yesterday with soreness in his arm, said of the primates, “These guys will be around the clubhouse for sure.”
For sure? Hmmm. At least we hope.
