If Randy Johnson looked a bit bedraggled at Arizona Diamondbacks Spring Training this morning in Phoenix, we know why.

A source tells SbB that yesterday Johnson flew from Phoenix to New York City to attend the second of a three-night run by Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton at Madison Square Garden (we’re actually going tomorrow night, yes!).

After departing the Garden, Johnson private-planed his way back to the desert, arriving in time for the club’s 8am workout today.

Pretty cool for R.J., and it isn’t like he did it during the season. But we’re wondering if that was such a fab idea for someone with a chronic bad back who claims to be making his final career comeback on the mound?
