In the latest chapter of “As The Rocket Implodes”, we turn to the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS, whose investigative team has never met an accused user it didn’t like to take chunks out of. Now, it appears that Kirk Radomski, as part of his plea deal with the federal government, is squealing about his alleged dealings with Roger Clemens.
The report cites sources saying Radomski found shipping receipts for shipments of HGH sent to Clemens’ Texas home, in the care of Brian McNamee.
According to the sources, the timing of the shipment to Clemens’ home coincides roughly with the dates when Clemens’ wife, Debbie, used human growth hormone in preparation for her participation in a pictorial in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. They also expect the evidence to corroborate McNamee’s claims that Clemens was behind his wife’s use and was present when McNamee injected her just after the drugs arrived at the couple’s home.
This, of course, would completely contradict Clemens’ assertions in front of Congress a few months back that he used HGH or had any knowledge that his wife was using them, either. For now, the U.S. Attorney’s Office is declining comment, Rusty Hardin isn’t aware of any new evidence, and only McNamee’s lawyer seems to have any knowledge about it — and there’s only so far we can go down the rabbit hole with anonymous sources.
McNamee previously testified that he operated as the go-between for Radomski’s supply and Clemens — if corroborated and proven in court, this sinks Clemens even further into the hole he dug for himself.
