This weekend’s American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament has brought together a crew of quarterbacks, both past and present.
When they weren’t out on the links endangering the lives of their fans, birds and all species in sight with their golf swings, the field generals were busy telling the GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE how much it’s got to suck to be Aaron Rodgers right now. John Elway, Carson Palmer, Ben Roethlisberger and Chris Chandler all offer the starting quarterback to be, kind words and warm regards as if Rodgers just found out his dog died.
Chandler, who must be playing in this weekend’s tournament because somebody else wasn’t available, offered the following words, “…this is just something that really, honestly, he shouldn’t have to be concerned with.”
Elway and Palmer were also very sympathetic to Rodgers. Big Ben on the other hand who was paired with Rodgers offered the following quote, “He has been preparing for this but (after all) it is Brett Favre.” In other words, I like you but you’re not as good as Brett Favre. Ouch. That must have made for an awkward pairing. He added, “You kind of have to go with what Brett does, because he’s one of the best to ever play. You just feel bad for (Aaron), but you just don’t know.”
