I don't recall the catcher of Bonds HRs or McGwire HRs having to give them back. They made millions. If they didn't own the ball how can they do that? I suppose you woulda settled for an autograph and a pat on the head.

I believe he should have recieved more also, this guy protects all of us inside and outside of baseball, and attends the games and is forced to park for 25.00$ at a crappy dolphin staduim miles away from anything, a beer is 7$, hot dog 5$, god give the guy the items he asked for, you prima donna baseball juiced assholes!!

how is it legally his? just because he cought it? in the nfl if u catch an extra point you have to give the ball back. you dont get to keep the ball in the nba. and he did not purchase the ball so how is it legally his?

Two bats and a ball? For something as important as a guys first HR ball? I'm a marlins fan but they acted like douches by not just giving the guy two bats and a ball. Is that really too much to ask for? Coghlan is making a prorated amount of the $480k (approx) MLB minimum… MLB players should value the fans like NHL players do.
