I hear this particular point of view all the time and it's asinine and uninformed. Allow me to educate you. Historically minorities haven't been able to secure fair or accurate representation in traditional media, especially broadcast television. For years, programming was developed written and produced solely by whites. Ethnically based networks were developed to fulfill a desire to fill that void. If Latino or black or Asian communities want to see expressions of their culture in a more diverse and fair way, they've got to do it themselves. BET is crap...but at least it is an attempt to fulfill a void. The same goes for beauty pageants and the like. Politically, ethnic minority communities usually have similar interests/concerns and the only way a minority, ethnic or otherwise, can successfully address those mutual issues is to organize and act in a concerted manner. Women do it, business does it, everyone does it. You act as if racism never existed and everyone has always been treated fairly throughout the history of this country. As far as "not knowing" his motivation, it's not hard to figure it out. The league is based purely on race and his comments evince racial animus towards blacks. You could create a league with only fundamentally sound players who show positive moral character...if that's what you're looking for. Using your flawed logic, we could never truly "know" someone's motivation unless it was honestly and explicitly expressed.
