The Army Times just ran a piece in its most recent issue addressing the fact that shipping packages to APO addresses is for the soldier only not for humanitarian aid. If I recall correctly the article recommended contacting the Red Cross/Crescent to help in this regard. Reasoning was two fold 1: The APO system is tax payer funded and 2: It overloads the "system" and causes delays for the soldiers who are waiting on packages. Speaking only for myself,..Oh well that's War. Hey Glaze 1. have you seen the homeless shelters in Detroit lately they cant fit all the people that needs shelter. 2. have you seen the innocent american people thrown into the streets due to this foreclosure crisis. 3. have you visited an american pediatric burn center. 4. have you visited a pediatric cancer center 5. have you seen the numbers on abandoned kids due to this economy 6. how many foreign countries sent aide on 9/11 7 have you visited a foster home in LA 8. how about donate to the families that lost homes in the four LA fires that happened in the last 4 months. 9. how about donate to the families of innocent victims of gang violence help them with the funeral cost. 10. better yet go to a hospital an buy a lunch for a family that stayed there all night waiting to see if their kid was going to live or not. 11. go to a funeral home and pre-pay for a youth casket to help some family with the cost of putting their child to rest. I could go on and on, c'mon glaze I know youre wrapped up in the moment but stop and think, these are the same kids are kids will be fighting in ten years. Screw them, send blankets and toys to our own kids in shelters and food banks, this Christmas is gonna be far different for a lot of american kids,....just think over 300,00 homes foreclosed on in California, since January...this Christmas will be far different for a lot of AMERICAN kids.
