Yes, we already posted this in the earlier Blog Jam, but some stories are so confusing we feel the need to give it a second look just to make some sense of it all. What we know: Last night Paul Pierce was pulled over by police who suspected he was drunk. He wasn’t. We think.
(Pierce adds to the confusion by requesting either zero or three drinks)
The best part is that the cops were so convinced he was wasted they didn’t even trust their own equipment, giving him two field sobriety tests and a breathalyser.
TMZ has some details:
Law enforcement sources tell us Pierce was stopped in front of the Tropicana Hotel and Casino and given not one but two field sobriety tests, plus a breathalyzer for good measure. He passed all three!
Now here’s the interesting part. After cops let him go, Paul left his car at the valet and took a cab home. He was not cited or charged.
Our guess is that the cops heard about Pierce referring to himself as “the best player in the world” and just couldn’t get around the fact that he wasn’t on substances of some kind.
