Colt himself said he designed and bought the ring before the damn bowl game.
The point I made had nothing to do with Colt as a person, far from it . It had to do with the fact that I have zero trust in college football. It’s dirty as it comes and I don’t blame kids or families for taking advantage of any benefits that may come their way. These programs make millions off their talents whereas the kids can lose their dreams in an instant without any compensation.
Did Colt or his family benefit at all during tenure at Texas? Who knows, but to think it doesn’t happen is ludicrous, just ask USC.

As an OU fan, even I am glad for him. He is a good guy (even if he was the Texas qb) and has great character. I see nothing wrong with the way he asked his girlfriend to marry him. Could he have gone somewhere more romantic? Sure he could have, but still, I think what he did was kind of neat.
Also, there is nothing wrong with getting married at his age if he and his girlfriend are ready. Some people are ready at that age, some aren’t. If they are ready, then more power to them.
