Phoenix Coyotes Give Fans Chance to Buy Same Music Gretzky Likes

GRANT FUHR’S GOT IT BAD FOR GOOD CHARLOTTE & DYLAN: Always wondered what the Great One had going on in his iPod while on the ice? Well, wonder no more!

Coyotes Trax

The Phoenix Coyotes are teaming with iTunes to offer up “Coyotes Trax”. The joint effort allows fans and curious visitors alike to check out and purchase the kinds of music that the NHL team’s players and coaches like to rock out to.

Now, you too, can dig deep into the music collection of captain Shane Doan and goaltending coach Grant Fuhr. Discover what the Coyotes’ Dance Team likes to boogie to when they’re not shaking their groove thangs to the jokers at Arena.

Most importantly, we get a look into the music tastes of head coach Wayne Gretzky. Although the playlist is only 19 songs long, it shows ol’ Wayne staying true to his national roots.

His sound selections include such Canadian performers as Bryan Adams, Sarah McLachlan, Nelly Furtado, Nickelback, and Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Oh, and there’s also a band called Triumph in there. Very motivational.

But we did notice some missing melodies from the list. We couldn’t find:

• Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.
• Gordon Lightfoot’s “Alberta Bound
• Stompin’ Tom Connors’ “The Hockey Song
• Kenny Rogers’ “The Gambler

Maybe Wayne decided to give those records up for his garage sale.
