The PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER reports that during Monday’s Packers-Eagles game, ESPN “showed a panoramic view of William Penn’s statue atop City Hall.”

Mike Tirico then inserted foot in mouth: “Ben Franklin, high atop the City of Philadelphia.”

An ESPN spokesperson: “We made a mistake.”

Mistake? Is the spokesperson talking about Penn or Tirico doing the games?
