If you thought a group of attractive, scantily-clad young women could just get together and play some physical football like the good old days, well, think again. Just when it looked like this year’s Lingerie Bowl was saved by a quick-thinking site move to a nudist colony, two major obstacles have emerged: 1) Lingerie-wearing players are openly upset they’re being forced to play in a “clothing optional” community; and 2) An agent claims that the company putting on the Bowl didn’t pay its players for a previous game, and is now offering 70% less than the original financial agreement.

(Hut, hut … homina, homina, homina!)

First, let’s take a look at some visual evidence of lingerie models to see if they really have a right to gripe about playing at the Caliente nudist resort in Pasco County, Fla. The woman you see above is Reby Sky, the quarterback of the homestanding Tampa Breeze, and the player who lodged the complaint that you can read in full after the jump. In this photo, she’s actually a participatory nudist, and that photo is a promo shot for the actual event she’s arguing shouldn’t be held in a nudist colony. Oh, and we should mention that she’s posed for PLAYBOY. Just worth mentioning.

If that’s not the height of hypocrisy, we don’t know what is. Just for the sake of ramming home the point, here’s another near-nude shot of lovely Reby below.

Now, someone who makes her living as a lingerie model and representing other lingerie models probably shouldn’t have any problem with playing in front of naked people, right? Wrong. Here’s what she said about playing at Caliente (Editor’s side note: Is there a possible funnier name for a nudist colony than “Caliente”? We don’t think so):

“I don’t have anything against the lifestyle,” Sky said, referring to the shift to a nudist resort. “But we as players were having a hard enough time dealing with and defending against the negative stigmas and stereotypes associated with the sport and playing attire before it was announced that we would be playing at a nudist resort.”

OK, a bit over the top, right. Still, this is the Lingerie Bowl, after all, so of course both sides are in the wrong.

Now, part two of the lingerie players’ problems. An agent with the incredibly “agenty” name of Ricker Yankowski is alleging that Horizon Productions, the company putting on the Lingerie Bowl, failed to pay its players for a game held on December 3, and is now offering only $1,000 for the gig - some 70 percent less than originally promised paycheck amount.

The aforementioned — and unbelievably named — Mr. Yankowski is taking things to an extreme, claiming that Horizon Entertainment is “immoral” for forcing the event to a nudist colony and cutting pay by as much as they have. Here’s that golden quote:

“I never thought it would come down to this,” Yankowski said. “Taking these girls away from home and family and work, then paying them a lot less, then making them play at a nudist resort, is below moral.”

Oh yes, its the low pay and relatively normal folks who just don’t like clothes at Caliente that are “below moral”. Someone go cry us a river. Or, better yet, show us more photos of the participants. Hey, new blood means new bikini shots, right? Am I right? Well, let’s take one more look at some of the athletes whose moral values might be in jeopardy by playing at a nudist colony.
