“Patriots Widows” Trolling For Sex During Games?

We’re not sure how we missed this one, but a few days ago the BOSTON HERALD reported on something it termed as “Patriots Widows” - women seeking men on Craiglist.com for sex while their men are away at Pats games in Foxborough.

Patriots Fans

Pretty amusing stuff, but not surprisingly, BOSTONIST outs the Herald for overblowing the trend, noting that, “whenever a major sports event takes place in the city, someone at the Herald scours the craigslist romance posts for sports-related ads. Last time, during the World Series, the Herald found a few posts indicating that Red Sox victories boosted the sex drive.

This time, the Herald claims to find something new–’frustrated fraus,’ or ‘Patriots widows,’ who feel that Their Man is too absorbed in the game.

Yet, The Herald did have some Craigslist posts as evidence that spurned sex-hungry spouses probably exist.

Listing: “My man is at (the) Patriots game and I am bored. I dont(sic) care, I am sorry. The (expletive) was going to take me out tonight.

And from a 45-year-old man: “Are you a sexy white lady whos(sic) man went to the Patriots game and left you all alone?? Well, rather than sitting home all alone, invite me over and let me give you a few hours of hot, erotic fun.

How tempting!

But when BOSTONIST went looking for sex-driven Patriots-related posts, this was the best it could do (NSFW). Sounds like the Tivo is likely to get stuck on a Tom Brady butt shot at that viewing party.

The Herald, of course, also interviews the garden variety local Dr. Phil on what drives women to do such things, though they newspaper clearly didn’t have more than a few examples of women actually acting on their urges.

Much more interesting would be the Herald interviewing the husbands of Bill Belichick’s girlfriends.
