My comment was only an opinion. There was no need to be defensive and insulting. I’m glad you are a true fan of the Hawks and of the sport since they’re isn’t many left. My father has been a season-ticket holder since he was a teenager, so I’ve seen my fair share. I’ve also played hockey for 20+ years. With hockey popularity almost non-existent in the US, the media scrutiny is always gonna be huge. So I will assume that this will be made into an even bigger deal. I’m not here to criticize or belittle anyone.

What I meant by true fans not caring: We will always follow the Hawks no matter what. The Hawks will continue to progress with or without him. This is not going to tarnish the Hawks or the league. Almost every team in the NFL has some sort of deviant on their team, Baseball has the steriods issue….But we don’t see those teams going down the tubes because of it…people are still going to the games.

I definetly do not wanna see him miss out on the whole season. We pay these players well and I really don’t wanna see Hossa out because of his injury or Kane because he’s in jail. Hawks need to make another big push for the Cup.

I don’t know all the facts to this story but I will consider him innocent until proven guilty since thats how the Justice system is suppose to work here. I understand people will believe he is guilty right off the bat and that is okay since they are able to have their own opinion.

If this is true, of course, I think he should get a punishment from the court as well as the league but to say we should make him sit out a season?? Thats alittle rough. I know if it was an “average person” that was in this situation we would not get off easily. So I hope…if it is true…that he does get a proper punishment and not something light but not something excessive jus because he’s an athlete. They need to be fair with him as they would with us.

Mike you had me and then you lost me big time. Take you’re “fail weather fan” comment and cram it.

I’ve been a Blackhawks for years - good times and bad times. I was a 2nd Balconey, SRO ticket buyer for years upon years in the Old Stadium, never missing a home game, watching Gretzky’s Oilers, Trottier’s Islanders, Hull’s Blues, etc, etc… And have dutifully followed the Hawks since.

I will withhold judgement on Kane until all the facts are in, but you couldn’t be more wrong in saying that we shouldn’t give a “crap”.

Kane seemed to be the exception to the rule - rich, young athletes are nothing more than arrogant, pieces of dog snap, but if the allegations are true, then he’s a walking, talking piece of human dung too.

“True Hawk fans won’t care”… Up yours moron. True sports fans SHOULD care!

Beating up an old man who’s just doing his job? How can anyone defend that kind of behavior? It could have been your own old man or grandfather for Christ’s sakes…!!

Unbelievable… I hope Kane gets what he deserves and has to face at least a short jail time for this.

I’m sure there’s more to the story. He’s actually a really nice guy. Met him at the Blackhawks convention not too long ago. People are very quick to judge before knowing the whole story. We’ll see what happens in the coming days. All the bad things that consistenly happen in the NFL don’t ruin football. I don’t see this incident ruining hockey and the Blackhawks. True Hawks fans won’t care and they will continue to be there to root for the team thru thick and thin….its the fair-weather fans and non-hockey fans that will give a crap.
