Football players would regularly miss class because they had to be in the hotel. The catch - they were missing Wednesday classes for a Thursday night game. Players would complain about the coaches, because many of them wanted to be in class on Wednesday and Thursday. Instead, they say in a hotel room and played video games. No part of it makes any sense. There is not a level playing nor consequences for breaking the rules. (Forfeiting wins, yeah that hurts.) Personally, I think it is OK to expect young adults 18-23 to act responsibly the night before a game. If they can't handle the "pressure", give the scholarship to someone who can. But this conference isn't going anywhere and especially with a new commissioner. And I thought that would be the difference, a new commissioner.
