Hey, SBB, nice crack on college football when you said overtime doesn't make it appear to be real football. I take it a step further, real football determines its champion via a playoff so college football is a cheap imitation that is more closely linked to WWE.

Play the entire quarter. Then if it's still tied they could do either the sudden death or the college system, although the latter could make for some interesting fantasy problems if you get a 77-76 nine OT game.

Ted: Feel free to put down the hash pipe anytime. Three probs w/ your "idea": 1) "Everyone agrees..." wrong-o. YOU think that. 2) "Not a bad idea..." wrong-o. YOU think that. 3) The "idea" itself. wrong-o.

I also shay don't change the OT rules. Like the BCS, it's the kind of argument that keeps ESPN talking heads employed.

2008/Week 6: Dallas 24, Arizona 24, end of regulation. Pokes win the toss, chose to receive, went 3-and-out. Cards blocked the punt and ran it in for the winning TD.

Keep the OT rule as it is.

maybe just play 1 extra 15 min period. who ever is winning after 15 mins wins. and if its a tie let end in a tie. kinda like the nba but only 1 period extra.

or let the other team who did not score get one more chance on offense to score.

hell how about a kicker shot out like the nhl. 50 yard feild goals best 2-3 or 3-5

Or the NFL can try the college OT was, but start the possessions with kickoffs instead of at the 25-yard line.
