A trio of Oregon Ducks basketball players are in trouble for committing some fowl play against their fellow feathered friends.
(”You’re dead, dog!”)
Josh Crittle, Michael Dunigan and Teondre Williams were all cited by Eugene police for shooting at ducks & geese in a city park last night.
THE OREGONIAN quacks up the news that just after 11 p.m. Monday night, up to six officers responded to reports of three men shooting guns in Eugene’s Alton Baker Park. When they arrived, they saw Crittle “fire about 20 shots toward the pond with a BB gun.”
As the officers approached, Dunigan & Williams tried to ditch their weapons, with Dunigan tossing his in the water. However, police quickly recovered both guns.
The three players were cited for violating park rules, which carries a base fine of $155, and are scheduled to appear in Eugene Municipal Court on April 14 to face the misdemeanor charges.
And what of the waterfowl? An Eugene Police spokesperson said “it did not appear any birds were injured in the shooting.”
Considering they finished their season with a dismal 8-23 record, it’s no surprise the Ducks’ shooting sucked.
