On the subject of recruitment, the NEW YORK POST reports on the entourage the Knicks employed to try to convince free agent Erick Dampier to join the club.
During his visit to NYC, Dampier was escorted to Spice Market "by a contingent that included general manager Isiah Thomas, head coach Lenny Wilkens, MSG Sports president Steve Mills and Penny Hardaway.
"Who should walk in but two former Knicks centers, Patrick Ewing and Herb Williams. Non-hoops notables at the hot eatery included Tom Cruise and Tommy ‘The Hit Man’ Hearns."
With Ewing in attendance, I have a feeling Myles Brand’s sex, drugs and alcohol embargo might’ve gone out the window that night.
