Lotsa rumors swirling the past few weeks in Central Ohio about the throwbacks Ohio State will wear for the Michigan game on November 21.
(1955 OSU Heisman winner and my ol’ pal in Columbus, Hop Cassady)
At the very least OSU did confirm the news this week, reporting that the unis are a tribute to the 1954 national title team (’55 jersey above). OSU AD Gene Smith noted in his release that the jerseys will be displayed beginning on Nov. 15 on the Buckeyes official merch site.
Of course, right now there’s an image floating around the web of the possible jersey the Buckeyes will wear.
Pic after the jump.

(Dude, where’s the FELT?)
Doesn’t look to throwbacky to me. Not even close to mid-’50s jersey I posted above the jump.
I covered Ohio State football on the Buckeye flagship radio station for four years in the late ’90s, and I can tell you that no program is snobbier when it comes to customs and traditions.
This is one of the few cases where I think fans may not like the throwback concept, whether the unis are cool or not. Though I’m digging the white helmets myself.
Still haven’t recovered though yet from my Georiga Bulldogs last week making like the Grambling Tigers. (That’s the game result talking. Helmets weren’t bad.)

As the Quarterback to the Rose Bowl team against SC (before I got my knee bent back 90 degrees the wrong way) I do NOT like the result of the throwback. I DO like the concept but that jersey looks like it was taken from the Atlanta Falcons away unis.
