It turned out to be quite a wild weekend in Denver. The Nuggets notched some new team records in a smashing of the Supersonics, while LenDale White did some smashing of his own while in town.
Sunday Night, the Nuggets scored 168 points - the most ever in a non-OT game. (The East Kentucky Miners are unimpressed.) The 168-116 blowout was also the largest-ever margin of victory for the Denver squad. As Chris Tomasson of the ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS remarked, the Sonics, “who might relocate to Oklahoma City, were so bad, they should have moved at halftime.”
But not as bad as White’s behavior the evening before.
The DENVER POST reports the Tennessee Titans RB was cited outside a downtown nightclub early Saturday morning. The player, a Denver native, was hosting a LenDale White Pisces Party at the Loft lounge.
But police smelled something fishy about LenDale’s behavior after he left the club. He was cited for destruction of property, disobedience to a lawful order/interference, and resisting a police officer. Although he was assigned a court date, White wasn’t arrested.
However, those inside the party don’t recall any cause for concern:
Jamie Uhlir, the owner and manager of The Loft, said White caused no problems inside the club, acting with class and tipping the waitresses generously.
He said White was in the club when the party ended at 1:30 a.m. and left without a problem.
“We didn’t hear of anything that happened,” he said.
Titans player visits city for the weekend, gets involved in disturbance outside club - where have we heard that one before?
