sounds like typical Americans saying 'what is the NHL?'..Just because you didn't invent it, doesn't mean it isn't good. Now, let's clarify that a bit. Back in the good ol' days, the players weren't overpaid robots surviving on media coverage. They used to have personalities, actually reacted to scoring, acknowledge the crowds, and didn't just go thru some motions, pick up their $50,000 check for 23 minutes of ho-hum play...It's more that way in the US than in Canada, partially because our fans actually ENJOY the game, no matter how watered down the talent is now, and Bettman's intense stupidity. Move this team, and a few others back to Canada, where they should be. Period. First period.

"It’s like the XFL had an affair with General Motors on a business trip to Canada or something, and this is the bastard child of their awkward drunken lovemaking."

Ok, that's officially the funniest post you have ever had.

Really though, I can see why a fledgling hockey league wouldn't want one of the most successful entrepreneurs in Canadian history on their board. Don't want to ruffle the feathers of the teachers pension plan, part owner of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ever wonder why the Leafs suck so bad. I'm sure board meetings sound alot like classrooms. "it's ok boys, you sure did try hard this year. Little Vesa Toskala, he's so cute in net."
As someone who lives 1 hour from Toronto and 1.5 from Hamilton, I'm praying that a team ends up there. The best thing Toronto could have is a bit of competition.

What is this thing called the NHL?

Looking at the photograph above of an empty stadium, one cannot tell what sport is being played.

Balsillie is the only man on earth with two nickels left to rub together who wants to buy an NHL team AT ALL.

The biz model, adding sun belt teams, is failed.

I think we could altogether lose 4-6 more teams completely, when guys like Balsillie don't magically appear.

After Balsillie gets his Hamilton team: Calling Winnipeg and Quebec City, you're next, COME! ON! DOWN!

What's that you say? Brandon, Kamloops, Regina ... why, you're all invited to the party too!
