Former NFLer Takes A Scrum At Rugby In England

An NFL player wants to show just how tough he is by taking part in a pro rugby match.

Dhani Jones

SCRUM.COM reports that Bengals linebacker Dhani Jones will have taken a “crash course” in the rough & tumble sport, and will likely see action this Saturday in England for the Blackheath club.

And it’s not just a scrimmage that Dhani will be scrumming in. Blackheath will be facing Launceston in the fifth round of the EDF Energy National Trophy finals.

Jones is a familiar face to British TV viewers as host of the sports show “Timeless“. And his latest athletic adventure hopes to rumble up some higher ratings.

Blackheath coach Harvey Biljon plans on putting Jones in for 5 to 10 minutes, and hopes the NFLer understands the rules by the time he hits the pitch:

French Gay Rubgy Ad

We just have to make sure that when he hits someone, it is an opponent who has got the ball.”

While in the British Isles, Jones will have to learn some new vocabulary. Since he plays for the Bengals, he should know that cops are called “bobbies”, and police investigators work for “Scotland Yard”.
