N.J. LAWMAKERS WANT ROOM ON RUTGERS BANDWAGON: Acting on the recent surge of Scarlet Knight success, the NEWARK STAR-LEDGER reports a New Jersey legislator wants Rutgers to include the ‘N.J.’ on their logos:

What the politico doesn’t know is that it’s been attempted before, courtesy of the HELMET PROJECT site:

In the mid-80s, the Scarlet Knights helmets consisted of the word ‘Rutgers’ with ‘N.J.’ right above. Farther back in the ’70s, the logo consisted of a knight’s helmet over a silhouette of the state of New Jersey.

Of course, back then, the team was lucky to get 3 wins in a season. But it’s good to see the state goverment want to acknowledge the school now that they’re good they were supporting all along.
