SAM’S TOWN READY FOR NBDL ALL-STARVE GAME: The sports world is in a frothing frenzy over the big basketball all-star game this weekend in Las Vegas.

With the likes of Pooh Jeter, Peter John Ramos, Louis Amundson and Pops Mensah-Bonsu set to descend on Sin City, you can bet the Golden Nugget, Circus Circus and Sam’s Town are ready to roll out the red (stained) carpet.

Yes, the NBA All-Star game is Sunday, but NBA.com reports the D-League will hold its own All-Star affair at “Center Court at NBA All-Star Jam Session at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino .”

In other words, the game will be hastily staged in front of a makeshift, rolled-out row of bleachers.

Here’s hoping the pro hoops D-listers will also have the hops and lateral movement to easily clear the myriad velvet ropes and steroid-fueled, stonewalling bouncers they are sure to encounter.
