All of that granted, they couldn't pack their $800m+ new home for a week Or two home dates in a row? Does that seem too much to ask? And if transplanted Washingtonians are going to root for their hometown team and only show up for the Cubs and Mets, does that $800m+ spent on "revitalization" make as much sense?

Give me a break. Of COURSE attendance was going to be way down. The Nationals stink, the Marlins stink, and as Kasten said, it was a cold dreary night and the National Championship was on TV. The Nationals haven't been around long enough to have die-hard fans that would come out to a game despite all those factors. It's a little early to write an article that trashes the place.
