Mike Shanahan appears to be settling down in the Mile High City, as the Broncos coach plans to build a new 30,000-square foot mansion.

But Penny Parker of the ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS reports that the land he & wife Peggy are going to use for their new abode was once owned by someone close to the team.

The Shanahans bought the property from Janet Elway, ex-wife of John. The former better half of the Broncos QB legend apparently received the land in a divorce settlement.

The new home is expected to take a year to complete. As for the old place, the Shanahans sold it a year ago for $16 million. Seems a bit steep? Here’s what the new buyer is getting:

It includes three Jacuzzis, an 80-square-foot steam room, a 108-square-foot sauna, a 2,299-square-foot heated garage, a 2,100-square-foot swimming pool, a 165-square-foot hot tub.

Must have been some great team meetings over at his place - or did he keep all the goods for himself?

We wonder what kind of housewarming gift John will bring to the new place. Maybe a torch.
