Michigan Foes Ohio State and Michigan State Enjoying Wolverines Loss to Appalachian State

UM FOES ENJOY APP STATE LOSS MORE THAN OWN WINS: Players and fans of Appalachian State aren’t the only ones flying high about their huge upset of Michigan.

The DETROIT FREE PRESS reports how Ohio State and Michigan State reveled in the Wolverines’ loss as much or even more than their own weekend victories.

The loudest cheers at Spartan Stadium on Saturday were reportedly heard when the scoreboard showed the 1-AA* Mountaineers leading the boys from Ann Arbor. And after a workmanlike win against 1-AA* Youngstown State, Buckeye players roared when news came about the final blocked FG at the Big House.

OSU tackle Alex Boone pointed out, “How the hell are you going to come back and call everyone out, and you can’t even beat Appalachian State? You’ve got some (guts).”

At his post-game conference, MSU defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi praised his team’s performance in beating UAB, then finished with, “And Michigan lost, too.”

Hope the bookstore in Boone, NC, can handle the crush of forthcoming t-shirt orders from Columbus and East Lansing - not to mention State College, Madison, Iowa City, West Lafayette, Bloomington, Evanston, Champaign and Minneapolis.

(*-Yes, we know the powers that be now officially call it the ‘Football Championship Subdivision’. They also refuse to use ‘Red River Shootout’ or ‘The World’s Largest Cocktail Party’, so we’ll pass on the NCAA-ese.)
