Brenda Frese, the Maryland women’s basketball coach that continued on the court even while eight months pregnant, has given birth to twins.

The DIAMONDBACK ONLINE - Maryland’s student newspaper, not an Arizona MLB blog - announced that Frese had delivered two bouncing baby boys last Sunday morning. Both mom & kids reportedly doing fine. Seven hours later, Frese received word of another blessed event.
Frese’s 4th-ranked Terrapins knocked off #12 Duke in Durham that evening. Maryland coaches & players heard about the births during a pre-game shootaround, but assistant coach Daron Park said such joyous news wasn’t a distraction: “We tried to focus on the task at hand, which is obviously what she would have wanted.”
Although she wasn’t present at the 76-69 win, Brenda’s been promising throughout the season that she’ll be back on the bench by tournament time. However, Park has been holding court pretty well, going 8-1 during Frese’s maternity leave.
But when Brenda returns, Park might have to help draw up pick-and-rolls while picking up diapers.
