Turns out Carl Lewis wasn’t the only celebrity to recently suffer a sorrowful ceremonial first pitch.
BIG LEAGUE STEW tosses us news that Mariah Carey was asked to do the honors for the Yomiuri Giants of Japan. The songstress showed good from - however, we’re not talking about her hurling prowess.

Mariah was led out onto the field by twin Giants mascots (we think they’re owls), and as she stood on the mound, the camera crew concocted a nice, slow pan up Carey’s legs.
Her toss was very Lewis-like, but it did reach the plate. And the PA announcer was very supportive, calling out to the crowd, “Nice throw!”
Now that we’ve compared Mariah & Carl’s pitching, let’s compare their singing. How ’bout the “Star-Spangled Banner”?
