SHARAPOVA SERVING UP TV SPORTS DRAMA PITCH TO CW: You can’t fault Maria Sharapova for trying to branch out, as the tennis titaness takes a swing at television production:

VARIETY reports that Sharapova is teaming up with writer Jacob Epstein to pitch a program to the CW Network. Only in its infancy so far, the show is to be a sports-themed drama set in the world of - surprise! - women’s pro tennis.Sharapova is slated to be co-executive producer of the court TV offering. And she’ll have plenty of time to work on it, as Maria recently bowed out of a couple of tournaments due to injury.

But it’s a shoulder injury that Maria is suffering, so Epstein will have to do the writing for two.
