GAY BLADES: The TORONTO STAR reports that the Maple Leafs will allow the club’s logo and uniforms to be used in an upcoming film about a gay hockey player.

With the popularity of the league at a low ebb, especially in the U.S., one wonders if the venerable franchise would have made a similar decision when pro hockey enjoyed a more prominent position on North America’s major league sports landscape.
