Superdome To See The Light With New Windows

NEW ORLEANS CITY BUSINESS shines a little light on the latest renovations to the Louisiana Superdome, as the superstructure will soon be getting new windows.

Louisiana Superdome during Hurricane Katrina

Four sheets of 18′ x 24′ reinforced glass will be installed around the club level of the stadium this summer. And that’s not all - the ‘Dome is also down for some more swanky improvements:

Four VIP escalators are included in the renovation to the Superdome Club Level, which recently added chic black leather couches, stainless steel pillars and wood-grain finished bars.

Sounds classy, if not a little pricey. How can the ‘Dome afford it?

The escalators and windows will cost $10.8 million in state funding.

Ah. Bet all those homeless Louisianians still stuck in their FEMA-provided trailers are happy to see their taxes going toward the right rebuilding projects. Too bad they’ll never be able to afford club-level seats to see the finished product.

Best of all, the next time a hurricane comes a-callin’, evacuees can get a good look at the action.
