Get real. All prohibitions have the caveat "for coaching purposes..." It would seem a blanket prohibition is not anticipated by the rules. A laptop could be on-hand simply "because the coach did not want to leave it in his hotel room."

You talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. And the "author's" quote that "90 percent of America is rejoicing in your loss" shows where his/her "journalistic integrity" lies.

2008 NCAA Rule Book:
Rule 1-9a:
"Television replay or monitor equipment is prohibited at the sidelines, press box, or other locations within the playing enclosure for coaching purposes during the game. Motion pictures, any type of film, facsimile machines, videotapes, photographs, writing-transmission machines and computers may not be used by coaches or for coaching purposes anytime during the game or between periods."

Who cares what excuses Weis dreams up. It is CLEARLY a violation of the rules and the NCAA should investigate, especially with NE Spygate in his background.
