I think we’ve found Matt Leinart’s new life coach, Mark Sanchez. Leinart you remember stayed in school at USC through his senior year because he wanted to (apparently) continue to enjoy college life. (Had nothing todo with a stealth shoulder injury, mind you.)

Leinart was rewarded by losing the national title game to Vince Young (amid an SC defense Chock Full o’ Walk-ons.) Not to mention falling off the NFL Draft cliff, which cost him countless millions in guaranteed money.

Sanchez was faced with the same dilemma last Spring and took a different path, much to the delight of USC Coach Pete Carroll.

The NEW YORK POST this morning reports that Sanchez, in addition to leading the New York Jets to their best start since Wesley Walker was making rats miss in the Shea Stadium commissary, has snagged a scholarship sprinter at USC named Jennifer Mueller.
Mueller, who conveniently happens to also have grown up in New Jersey, reportedly also has family in California.
Mueller’s high school track coach, Shemayne Williams: “I have not met Mark, but Jen’s family is from California — she knew him through a cousin and a circle of friends. They knew each other before college and had a friendship for a while. They dated in college, and it evolved [into] a relationship now.”

With Sanchez locked in the film room during the season, I’m sure his relationship with Mueller will continue to blossom. The big question will be this offseason. Can you imagine Sanchez keeping tabs on the anonymous Mueller with all the distractions he’ll face in Manhattan?
Just ask Leinart about his (former) USC coed girlfriend, Brynn Cameron, once he settled in as a permanent fixture on Scottsdale party scene.

SC’s defense was a joke personnel-wise at the end of Texas game. Basically half the defense was scout team players because of injuries.
I should know, I was there. And was there for every game that season.

So Leinart’s career hasn’t been a success…I get that. But I’ve never seen a guy so vilified for basically liking to have a good time. Seriously, can someone please let me know what horrible thing he’s done to deserve such scorn? He’s still one of the greatest college FB qb’s all time. The haters can hate all they want.

I am sure Leinart is losing a lot of sleep. Didnt he win a Heisman or something? I am sure his contract is still plenty big. Until Sanchez leads a team to an NFL title, he is just another ex USC QB who lived a great life in college and didnt do much in the pros. Life could be a lot worse.

PS..ill take Bryn Cameron over Sanchezs chick any day of the week. Awesome girl and any man would be lucky to have her be the mother of your kids. Shes in the same class as Tom Bradys single mother of his kid who far outclasses Bundchen.
