LeBron’s Quite Glad Monday Wasn’t Mother’s Day

Monday night, LeBron James had a special belated Mother’s Day message for his dear ol’ mama standing courtside - SIT DOWN!

During the 2nd quarter of last night’s Game 4, the king Cavalier became entangled with Paul Pierce, and the Celtic offered his own holiday greeting by hugging LeBron and dragging him out of bounds.

Well, Paul should have watched where he going, as Gloria didn’t appreciate how he was harassing her little boy (with video after the jump):

That’s Mrs. James in the white shirt coming to her son’s rescue, as Kevin Garnett holds her back. But it appears LeBron thought it was help that he could do with out, as he shouted at her to sit back down.

After the Cavs won 88-77, LeBron admitted that his re-seating request to his mother wasn’t so polite. From the ASSOCIATED PRESS:

“I told her to sit down, in some language I shouldn’t have used. Thank God today wasn’t Mother’s Day. All I could think about is her … I know my mother. It’s fine, we’re good.”

Did Gloria deserve such verbal venom from LeBron? Probably not. You can’t blame a woman’s material instincts kicking in when one of her offspring is in trouble.

However, LeBron was probably worried that any further action by Mom could have resulted in a technical against himself. Or she could have gotten hurt if fists started flying.

Lest we forget, this isn’t the first time Mrs. James had gone insane in the membrane. Back in 2006, she was arrested for a DUI - which included Gloria wriggling out of handcuffs, kicking out the back window of a police car, and forcing officers to use mace on her.

For Game 6, maybe she should just stay in the suites.
