KING JAMES IRKS CLEVELAND SUBJECTS W/YANKEE PRIDE: Et tu, LeBron? Turns out Cleveland’s biggest sports star is smitten with the enemy:
As the Indians do battle against the New York Yankees in the ALDS, NEW YORK NEWSDAY turns up Cavaliers star LeBron James as a turncoat for the hometown team.James recently professed his pride for the Pinstripes: “I know a lot of people might not like hearing me say that, but I think everyone knows I’ve been a Yankee fan my whole life. They have to deal with it.” He even predicted a Yanks win before his “SNL” appearance.
Sure enough, TBS reporter Craig Sager spotted King James in the Jacobs Field seats for Game 1 on Thursday, proudly displaying his “NY” hat.
Clevelanders can’t be too content with LeBron’s new crown. But some Tribesmen aren’t taking it sitting down. Indians Hall of Famer Bob Feller says he plans on paying a visit to Quicken Loans Arena this season:
“I’m going to a Cavaliers game and sit right by their bench, wearing a Detroit Pistons cap. Let’s see how LeBron likes that.”
James might want to consider a change in his head fashion, as the Indians ended up scalping the Yanks 12-3.
