Lawyer Milloy Celebrates Falcons Loss With DUI

While things went very well for the Atlanta Falcons in the first week of the NFL season, they learned yesterday that things change quite a bit when you’re not playing the Detroit Lions.   A week after quarterback Matt Ryan had an impressive NFL debut and Michael Turner ran all over, the Falcons were handed a big dose of reality with a 24-9 loss by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers yesterday.   The devastation was enough to lead at least one Falcon to drinking.

Lawyer Milloy was arrested early this morning for speeding and driving under the influence.

From the ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION:

Details of the arrest were not immediately available, but according to the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department Web site, Milloy, who has a Buford address, was booked into the jail about 4:30 a.m.

Milloy posted bond at 9:48 a.m., jail records showed.

A Falcons team official said head coach Michael Smith will address the situation at his previously scheduled 4:20 p.m. press conference.

I’m doing my best to keep from making the lame Lawyer needs a lawyer joke here, but it’s kind of tough.  In fact, I think I just did it.   God, I hate myself.

Obviously this won’t go over well with Falcons owner Arthur Blank as his team is coming off a season that was marred by Mike Vick’s dog-fighting antics.   Back in June Falcons safety Daren Stone was arrested for DUI in Atlanta and was released by the team on September 1st.   I don’t think Milloy will be subjected to the same fate, but if he is I wouldn’t be surprised if a whole bunch of Falcons were caught driving drunk next week.   They may have finally found a way out.

If only the cop had been an Auburn fan. Apparently everyone in Atlanta is back on the Bulldogs bandwagon.

Wonder if Lawyer partook in a little hair of the dog. Good thing Michael Vick isn’t still around.

    dude’s number was up.

unless he did something crazy, it’s to the point where people care less and less. EVERYONE on the highways after 11p on saturday is drinking and driving.

what would’ve happened if there’d been a checkpoint at the exit of the georgia dome parking lot?

    cut the guy some slack.
