The COURTHOUSE NEWS SERVICE says that a man is suing Tampa Bay Buccaneers Anthony Davis and Michael Bennett over a fracas that took place at an IHOP back in October. In the suit, Brian Gordon alleges that Davis and Bennett (along with a third man) battered him in the parking lot of the IHOP, to the point that the restaurant added him to the menu as the new Fish ‘n’ Chips special. Get it? Because he was battered.
I’m shocked at the allegations. Not that they involve NFL players allegedly acting like complete idiots - there’s nothing surprising there. But that it happened at an IHOP. Everyone knows that if there’s drunken mayhem to happen at a late night restaurant, it should be happening at a Waffle House. (Just ask Kid Rock.)
According to Gordon, the pair were hammered at the IHOP, and not in the fun, Vince Vaughn from the end of “Swingers” sort of way:
Gordon claims that as he ate in the IHOP on Oct. 13, Davis, who was drunk, harassed the staff and patrons, calling two fellow diners “sluts” and whores,” yelling at the waitress and cook to “give me my m-ther f-cking food!” and so on.
And Gordon is also suing IHOP, claiming that “no agent of IHOP intervened” while he was allegedly getting the Rooty Tooty Fresh & Fruity kicked out of him in the parking lot. It’s worth noting that Davis is 6′4″, 322 while Bennett is 210 pounds. So I think we can understand why any “agents” of IHOP were hesitant to get involved.
And oh yeah, Gordon said that Bennett flashed a gun at him. Paging Roger Goodell.
