Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman Disses Hip Hop As City Closes In On NBA Franchises

VEGAS MAYOR SLIGHTS HIP HOP AS CITY HOSTS NBA: Numerous outlets reported this week that NBA Commissioner David Stern has directed Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman to make the league a formal offer in order to secure an NBA franchise.

Goodman and Las Vegas city officials will make that proposal at a league owners meetings on April 23.

One thing Goodman probably won’t mention to NBA officials at that time were recent comments he made about keeping the city secure as the town hosts the league’s all-star activities:

The LAS VEGAS SUN reports that while addressing the local business community at a luncheon before the NBA festivities tipped off, Mayor Goodman said, “I don’t want to see some gangbangers or hip-hoppers knocking over a jewelry store at Fashion Show mall.
